The Club is running a First Aid training course at The Naval Club on Saturday 14th May 2011.

A new IRC rule has come into effect for 2011 requiring yachts to have at least two qualified first aiders on board.  This will affect you if you plan to race in an event under IRC rules.

However, regardless of whether you race or sail for plain pleasure, it makes sense to have some basic first aid training, as we all know you never know what can happen!

Once the course is completed you will receive a credit card sized certificate, which is valid for three years.  This card should be carried with you, as you may be asked to produce evidence of first aid training if attending other regattas, especially those in France, Holland or Belgium.

The course will start at 0900 on Saturday 14th May 2011 and will cost just £50 per person.  However, the good news is that the RNVR Yacht Club will reimburse £15 of the cost after completion of the course

We must have 6 people registered in order for the course to go ahead.  If you are interested in attending, why not see if your crew or friends would like to attend too?  Non-members are welcome.

Bookings should be made using the Register button, as soon as possible, with your cheque for £50 (payable to RNVR Yacht Club) sent to Nigel Collingwood, 185 Pegwell Rd, Ramsgate, Kent, CT11 0LY.
